About Raft, Inc.

Resources Advancing Family Transitions (RAFT) is an emerging community-based nonprofit organization located in Inglewood, California.

Since the fall of 2004, Raft's community economic focus has been to address the need of a stable living wage for low-income single mothers with minor children to increase job marketability to obtain sustainable dependable employment and qualify for housing. We have since expanded the target group to include, low-income single fathers raising children and the underserved population of emancipated youth in our community. Raft's supportive services include youth mentoring for the children of our students, family health and wellness workshops and informational resources for seniors in the community.

Raft operates one major program, the Legal Support Institute (LSI), an industry-specific vocational training school. LSI uses an employer needs approach to training students for a higher-paying professional job market. We encourage prospective students to carefully read all information related to courses, policy and procedures. Employers are also encouraged to review information regarding the benefits of "Signing on" with our "Personnel Referral Service."
